In a recent operation in Narayanganj, Bangladesh, a significant quantity of hazardous jelly-pushed shrimp was seized. The operation was conducted based on confidential information and resulted in the discovery of approximately 1,200 kilograms of these toxic shrimp.
Operation Unveiled
Acting on undisclosed intelligence, Lieutenant Kazi Akib Arafat spearheaded a joint initiative between the Bangladesh Coast Guard Station Pagla and the Fisheries Department Keraniganj. This collaborative effort led to the interception of a truck and a bus destined for Chittagong from Satkhira.
Seizure of Poisonous Shrimp
During the operation, law enforcement authorities discovered and confiscated a staggering 1,200 kilograms of poisonous jelly-pushed shrimp. Despite their best efforts, authorities were unable to ascertain the real owner of the contraband. Consequently, the truck and bus drivers were released on bond, while the seized jelly-pushed shrimp met their demise.
Safe Disposal of Contraband
To ensure the safe disposal of the hazardous shrimp, they were incinerated and buried under soil. This meticulous process was carried out to prevent any potential environmental contamination and to safeguard public health.
