The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in Brazil has received approval from Australia to export shrimp and shrimp meat to the country. This milestone marks an expansion of trade flows between the two nations, building on the market opening for Brazilian fish imports announced in February 2024.
A Booming Trade Relationship
The recent announcement brings the total value of agricultural exports to Australia to over USD 111 million in the first five months of 2024.
This news is part of Brazil’s remarkable achievement of opening its markets to international trade in 2024. With this announcement, Brazil now boasts 78 market openings in just six months, bringing the total number of market openings since the beginning of 2023 to 156 across 53 countries.
