The province of Samut Sakhon in Thailand released one million black tiger prawns into the Tha Chin River to promote ecological balance and biodiversity. The ceremony, held on July 17, was led by Governor Phon Damthornom and attended by local officials, civil servants, and residents.
A Royal Tribute and Conservation Effort
The event was held in honor of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn’s 72nd birthday. The release of the black tiger prawns was a joint effort involving government officials, private organizations, and the local community. By participating in this initiative, all parties aimed to pay royal tribute while also conserving natural resources.
Governor Phon Damthornom emphasized the dual purpose of the event: to pay tribute to the King and to conserve natural resources. By increasing the population of aquatic animals in the Tha Chin River, the initiative aims to enhance the river’s biodiversity and maintain ecological balance. This will ensure that the ecosystem remains sustainable for future generations.
The Impact of Black Tiger Prawns
The release of one million black tiger prawns is expected to have a significant impact on the local aquatic environment. Known for their rapid growth and adaptability, black tiger prawns play a crucial role in the river’s food chain and overall ecological health. By replenishing their population, the initiative supports the natural habitat and provides benefits for local fishermen and the broader community.
