The Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee in southern Vietnam has held a conference to review the first half of the year and set the stage for the rest of 2024.
The province’s economic growth rate of 5.74% during this period puts it in 8th place among Mekong Delta localities, a slight dip from last year’s 6.93%.
Challenges Ahead
According to Pham Van Thieu, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Bac Lieu Province, the current rate is lower than expected, highlighting the need for more effective solutions to achieve the province’s 2024 targets.
To achieve this, local authorities are calling on bodies to step up efforts to accelerate the project aimed at turning Bac Lieu into a shrimp farming hub in the country.
