In a recent operation conducted by the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) and the Department of Fisheries, a significant amount of jelly-pushed shrimp, weighing approximately 4,900 kilograms, was seized in Keraniganj, Dhaka, on Saturday. The operation took place in the vicinity of Daleshwary Bridge, according to the confirmation from Media Officer Lt Com Khandaker Munif Tawqi of the BCG.
Prompted by information received, a collaborative effort was initiated by the BCG Station Pagla and the Keraniganj office of the Fisheries Department. The joint team executed a thorough raid in the specified area and conducted searches on two trucks bound for Chattogram from Satkhira.
Subsequent to the operation, the seized poisonous jelly-pushed shrimp was disposed of through incineration, ensuring the removal of this hazardous product from circulation.
