Promptly responding to the alarming find, the authorities took decisive action by burning the contaminated shrimp at the landfill in Dangkor district. The disposal was carried out to ensure that these tainted products do not find their way into the market, prioritizing the safety of consumers.
Inspection of Seafood Storage and Distribution
The crackdown extended beyond the discovery of tainted shrimp. Officials from the CCF Phnom Penh branch and local authorities from Chbar Ampov district conducted a comprehensive inspection of seafood storage and distribution facilities. This included scrutiny of various products such as frozen black chicken, salmon fins, and more, all stored in freezers to meet market demands and culinary needs.
Warning to Traders and Consequences
In a stern message to traders, authorities have explicitly warned against importing unsafe or illegal food products. Should such products be identified, the consequences will be severe. Confiscation and destruction of the questionable goods will be executed, and those involved may face legal repercussions.
