Automating Shrimp Peeling
One standout invention is the “2 in 1” shrimp peeling device developed by a group of students at Tra Vinh University. This automatic dried shrimp peeling and packaging machine has been warmly welcomed by the community for its ability to streamline production processes.
The machine ensures food safety and hygiene while preserving the quality of dried shrimp for extended periods, ranging from 6 to 12 months. By automating the peeling, sieving, and packaging processes, it significantly reduces the need for manual labor and saves valuable time. Notably, the machine is designed to minimize waste by recycling crushed shrimp shells, contributing to environmental sustainability.
Innovating Water Filtration Technology
Another groundbreaking project comes from students at Can Tho University, who have devised a pond water filtration technology to address the challenges of water treatment in shrimp farming. Traditionally, chemical treatments have been utilized, but concerns over their long-term effects on shrimp health and the environment have prompted the need for alternative solutions.
The proposed water treatment system utilizes seawater electrochemical technology to create a saline solution that effectively eliminates harmful bacteria and microorganisms. By integrating ultrasonic and ozone aerator technologies, the system ensures water quality standards are met without relying on potentially harmful chemicals. This sustainable approach not only safeguards shrimp health but also reduces the overall cost of water treatment for farmers.
Bioproducts Enhancing Shrimp Health and Immunity
In their quest to support shrimp farmers, students specializing in Biomedical Sciences at the Viet Anh Research and Training Institute – VNUK have developed probiotics tailored specifically for shrimp farming. Known as Learn Tom Probiotics, these products offer a range of benefits, including waste humus treatment, water environment purification, and enhanced shrimp immunity.
By harnessing natural antibiotic properties, these probiotics combat digestive diseases in shrimp while stabilizing water pH levels. Produced in powder form for user convenience, these bioproducts offer a promising solution to common challenges faced by aquaculture households.
Empowering Farmers with Advanced Monitoring Systems
Lastly, students from Can Tho University have introduced a pond monitoring and control system – MDF, designed to empower farmers with real-time insights into water quality parameters. By continuously updating data on temperature, pH levels, dissolved oxygen content, and water levels, this system enables farmers to proactively address water-related issues.
Utilizing Lora wireless technology, the system delivers alerts through both audible alarms and mobile notifications, ensuring timely responses to potential problems. With a lower cost compared to existing alternatives, this innovative monitoring system promises to enhance efficiency and productivity for shrimp farmers nationwide.
